Hi, Laura! Thanks so much for reading my blog. I am having fun doing it, but someday you wonder if anyone is reading anything...right?
The name of the movie/documentary is Demographic Winter....The button from Vision Forum doesn't have the title on it, so that can be a little confusing.
We don't have allowances or anything. My kids have grown up knowing not to ask for things at the store....they do occasionally, but know whining or pestering for something won't work. We tried Doorpost's Stewardship Street a few years ago. I was really good and taught us some good principals, but keeping up with how much to pay each child for the jobs they did and then having enough cash on hand broken down into the right increments...got to be too burdensome. My kids save up the 23-40 dollars they get from birthdays to use as spending money throughout the year or to spend on trips. We probably need to rethink some of this, but we just don't want them spending money!! Our house is full of great toys, books, dvds, GOOD computer games, they have bikes and outdoor toys, so they really have no need to spend.
Didn't really answer your question, did I? I do want you to be looking out for my family's new project...well, it's not just ours, but SkyAngel TV and The American Family Association are launching The Homeschool Channel this summer. My dh is one of the two homeschooling fathers in charge of this. We have a great line of well-known homeschool ministries, speakers, and curriculum providers partnering with us and we are so excited about the ministry opportunities as well as travel opportunities for our family and learning so much! Along with two other homeschool moms, I will be blogging on the homeschool channel's blog daily. Details are still be worked on and we are furiously adding content. I hope to give a formal announcement for everyone to check out the website next week.
