I am working on projects that seem to have dragged on all through the academic year. They are big, messy and need full attention.
1st. Painting the walls of the interior. (Mostly done).
2nd Pillow covers (done).
3rd Painting a wicker chair (done) whose ottoman is meneded, painted and already in use.
4th Strip a 'new' thrifted chair, CLEAN, recover along with it's friend the $6 wingback from our homestudy re-do from America's Thrift Store. She's been waiting for 5 years for new life.
I've already got the education plans printed and books ordered, received and waiting, so I'm taking a break from swimming this morning to literally -- get this house in order!
Most everything I know about the plans-- buy the paint (done). Put on junky clothes (done). But I'm going to need to follow a pattern for my chair re-covers. I can easily cover a cushion, but a chair has 'shoulder's. But this one looks like it's very doable. and the original from Miss Mustard Seed.
Like 2-day doable.
But life happens... kids need structure, projects, lunch. Cat comes in & 'finds' and adds new feature to said new cushion... now cushion needs 'deep cleaning'. Husband calls, asks 'are the bills & budget ready for me to look at?'
Stinky laundry from father's day family campout needs doing. Yes. Real life happens. And it is good.
Pictures to soon to follow.

Hey Girl via Edie @ life{in}grace
'How do we teach differently? I can think of no more concise and vivid description of the role of the Christian teacher than that provided by Charlotte Mason in the synopsis she wrote near the end of her long contemplation of education. She said that, because the child is a person, "we are limited to three educational instruments, ‘the atmosphere of environment, the discipline of habit, and the presentation of living ideas.’"

No. pressure.
So I turn to Edie... Thankyou Edie. You helped me through a tumultuously challenging day with a boatload of laughter. Please visit Edie. And laugh with me.
The above is one of the many picts she compiled. And boy did I need a laugh. Life can get pretty tense when it's all about getting it 'right'. Have a super day.
I'm off to the pool with the boys to do the biggest canon ball they've ever seen!
